Future Art and Culture (FAC) is a major international showcasing initiative held annually at SXSW. Over the past decade, Future Art and Culture has built a reputation for premiering major work by artists, technologists and scientists, collaborating to explore new ideas about the human condition, society, the world around us, and the furthest reaches of space.
Produced by British Underground, the 2025 SXSW Austin Texas programme was full of pioneering creative talent including Taiwanese artist Ting-Tong Chang and UK artist group Blast Theory.
The programme included multiple world premieres, collaborations and panels that provoked new thoughts on the future of culture, creativity and humanity. Our task was to spotlight the incredible work British Underground is doing to platform innovative creativity across the globe.
Working closely with the British Underground team, we identified programme highlights and developed a plan to spread the FAC story across key national and art media outlets and to underline the important role that the showcase plays, thanks to funding from Arts Council England and the British Council You can find out more in this Arts Professional piece.
We secured 20 pieces of coverage across nationals, art press and broadcast, with 3.2m estimated views and an average domain authority of 71, boosting the noise about the FAC programme within a very competitive space.
Congratulations are due to Ting-Tong Chang and Blast Theory, whose Proof As If Proof Were Needed won the XR Special Jury Award. This is the fourth year running that Future Art and Culture have picked up an award!
