Art On Your Doorstep

Croydon was the first London location to host The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep, a major free outdoor exhibition delivered through the partnership between Croydon Council and The National Gallery. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the exhibition and its accompanying events programme, engage new audiences across the borough and wider London, and strengthen recognition of Croydon’s cultural offer. We developed a focused PR strategy targeting local London press, general consumer media, and sector-specific arts outlets.

The campaign secured more than 20 pieces of coverage across features, listings, interviews, and sector press. Key results included a feature and social media reel with MyLondon, which involved interviews with Culture Croydon’s Creative Director, Caterina Loriggio, and artist Rachel Gadsden, who led workshops as part of the events programme. Additional highlights included a print feature with The Week Junior and an interview on BBC Radio London with Caterina Loriggio. Further coverage appeared in Londonist, Time Out, Secret London, IanVisits, Sutton & Croydon Guardian, Croydonist, South London News, The Shortlist, and Arts Professional. The activity achieved a combined reach of more than 3 million and significantly increased visibility for the exhibition. It strengthened Croydon’s cultural profile and reinforced the ongoing partnership with The National Gallery, supporting wider ambitions to bring high-quality cultural experiences to the Borough’s communities.
