Spiracle Audiobooks was one of Collective Wisdom’s first ever clients and we’ve been delighted to support its ambitious growth through strategic comms and high‑impact PR campaigns.

Industry recognition has book-ended the year, with Spiracle named Start‑up of the Year in the Futurebook Awards at the end of 2024 for “daring to do things differently” in a market dominated by major platforms, with judges praising its commitment to independent bookshops through the innovative Audiobook in a Card model and its collaborative co‑publishing with independent presses.

This success was followed by a major win at the inaugural British Audio Awards (The Speakies), where Spiracle took home Best Audiobook: Fiction for All My Precious Madness by Mark Bowles, narrated by Paul Hilton, a title also selected as The Guardian’s Audiobook of the Week.

Next on the cards is an ambitious expansion, Spiracle 2.0, The Next Chapter, expanding the catalogue to 50,000 audiobooks, while still producing quality audiobooks exemplified by Spiracle’s new audiobook edition of the Tao Te Ching, narrated by Tilda Swinton with artwork created by Antony Gormley.

A successful series of intimate live readings designed to celebrate the pleasures of listening to great literature, Tales at Toklas Bakery has launched, starting with captivating readings by Diana Quick (Chekhov’s The Lady and the Dog) and this year’s Old Vic Scrooge Paul Hilton.
